We went on a little adventure to San Antonio where we visited the River Walk. We decided to take a boat cruise which allowed us to see and hear about the city as the River Walk winds and loops under bridges with two parallel sidewalks lined with restaurants and shops. We also visited the Alamo.

Walk along the beach, SPI
I decided to take another walk along the beach before we headed out. However, I couldn't go too far as I could see it was going to start raining soon and I could also hear thunder.
I noticed that the cacti were getting ready to bloom and a few of their flowers had already started to pop out.
The sandpipers were running all over the beach, searching for food. I also noticed some small holes in the sand, which I assume were made by turtles. Perhaps it was turtle hatching time, but unfortunately, I didn't see any baby turtles or their mothers. However, I did find a couple of Portuguese Man O’ War.

Surf Fishing South Padre Island
We attempted surf fishing, but unfortunately, the waves were too strong for our fishing lines and we could not cast them out past the waves. At first, there were hardly any people around us, but as time went on, more and more cars, trucks, and beach-goers arrived in search of a spot to relax, enjoy the water, and have a BBQ, picnic. Numerous food trucks and trucks were selling floating toys going up and down the beach, catering to adults and kids.

SpaceX, Boca Chica Texas
On a clear day in South Padre Island, you can spot the SpaceX site in Boca Chica. Although the weather was cloudy when we visited, we still decided to make the 45-minute drive to witness the progress being made on the rockets. It's truly amazing to see the advancements being made in this field. Elon Musk has turned this little area into a massive space center. There might be a rocket launch in May, but unfortunately, we couldn't stay to witness it. Maybe another time!

Laundry on the road
Oh, dirty clothes that need to be washed. One does need to plan the day and take them to the laundry room. You will need quarters to use the machines, most machines take 2.00 to wash, and about 1.50 or more to dry. One also has to hope the machines are clean and will do a good job washing the clothes. The laundry room can get quite busy, particularly in bigger parks where more people are trying to use the machines. I have done laundry twice now, and I'm glad that I brought extra clothes because one trip took longer due to the time gap between loads. Whenever I need to do my laundry, I always bring extra one or five-dollar bills so that I can easily get change for the machines. This way, I can avoid any inconvenience if the laundry room doesn't offer change or runs out of it.
