We left South Padre Island at around 10 in the morning and headed towards our first stop on the way back home. We stopped at Cascade Caverns, and though we really wanted to take a tour of the caves, we couldn't as we got there too late. We had to leave early in the morning for our next trek on the journey.
It was incredibly peaceful there. After being at South Padre Island with the constant wind and the noise of seagulls and other birds, it was a welcome change to experience the quietness. We woke up to the sweet sound of a small songbird singing, which was very relaxing.
It takes some time to get back to the RV spot, as you have to pass through some residential areas and farmlands before you finally arrive at the 103-acre site in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, which is just 2.5 miles off the interstate.
We were relieved that we arrived at our destination safely. However, we took a wrong turn in San Antonio and missed our exit. Despite our efforts to merge into the right lane, no one let us in. We had to recalculate our route, hoping that we wouldn't end up in an unfamiliar residential area with a camper behind us. After navigating through several twists and turns, we finally got back on track and reached our destination. In retrospect, I dislike the city and its chaotic traffic. I would rather take longer routes on smaller roads to avoid the congested areas.
