Jim and Mary's RV Park Missoula Montana

We got up and set out on the road again. The winds weren't too bad this morning when we arrived at the RV spot. So had semi smooth sailing on the highway.

Super nice small RV park.  Easy to find off the interstate. It must be beautiful in summer with all the blooming flower pots and flowers around.

Columbus, Montana

We returned to the Mountain Range RV campground, where we had stayed on our way to Minnesota. They are currently adding about 50 to 60 more sites. During our stay, a De Luxe custom motorhome arrived. It was truly impressive!

Columbus, Montana is a full-service community of approximately 2000 people.  It is situated on the north bank of the Yellowstone River and is located about 40 miles west of Billings, Montana’s largest city. This quiet community boasts many recreational activities and is a fisherman’s paradise.  Columbus also serves as a gateway to the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains and Yellowstone National Park.

The town of Columbus is going to take a major hit as The Stillwater mine in town is closing and laying off 700 people. This is not good for the town or for the families.

Also had a little visitor come see me.

this is the truck that was pulling that trailer, think he likes golf since it said on the front 18 holes and still counting, also from Florida.

dinner was sloppy joes, salad, and the left over mango salad.

Black Iron Grill Miles City

We decided to go out and to eat at this restaurant that the KOA recommended, glad we went, the food was very good, as well as the service!

I had the walleye fish strips, with a salad and husband had the half rack of ribs.

Hiking around Yellowstone River

The winds were starting to calm down. My husband was trying to figure out how to keep our generators from tipping over in the back of the truck due to the bumpy roads or the wind moving them around.

I decided to take a small walk and see what was by the park. They say you can find agates on the riverbed. I'm not sure if any of these are rough agates, but I found some pretty cool rocks! The river is super low.

Jacks up to Miles City KOA, Montana

The winds started about 1 AM, shaking the trailer, and it was non-stop blowing. We debated whether to stay in Dickenson for another day or drive to the next stop. We knew it was a short journey to Miles City ....

Of course, we took the, let's go! We encountered major winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph all the way to Miles City. Can you say 7 mpg? As far as gas goes, most of the way, we were averaging 11 to 12 miles a gallon.

The driver took it slow, and we made it. Hopefully, the winds will die down soon. We will be here one night, and then off again.

Since we've made it here and there's not much to do until the winds calm down, I've decided to go and do some laundry. I was surprised to find that it costs $1.75 for washing and $0.75 for the dryers. Cheapest so far! They also have a charming gift shop that offers locally made items as well as general supplies.
